GABRIEL MAINA

Gabriel is a technical skills expert in electrical and electronics engineering (power electronics option). His experience spans over 27 years in technical training (curriculum delivery and administration). Gabriel is trained in special education giving him a leverage in understanding most unacademic youth getting into technical competencies training after dropping at any level in the education system. He has churned out over 10 thousand trainees to the world of work and permanently breaking the poverty vicious circle in their lives, families, and the communities they originate from. Gabriel is certified by CDACC on competency-based assessment, six sigma (KAIZEN), senior management education course, change management, T3 Grid Tie Solar Training from Strathmore university, C2 Electricians license from Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority. ISO 9001: 2000 internal auditor, quality management system requirements training and awareness training.

Gabriel brings into The Toolkit iSkills wide experience to steer up Recognition of Prior Learning for the targeted audience who are artisans returning to the education and training process, artisans who need recognition of skills acquired through informal and non-formal learning at work or in their community, artisans who intend to update/upgrade their skills in a particular qualification, artisans seeking retraining and artisans with qualifications unvalidated by the KNQA and who intend to be certified in qualifications validated and approved in the Kenya National Qualifications Framework. TTI shall apply RPL to correct the existing historical disadvantages such as exclusion of certification for many artisans who have trained and gained skills through informal learning.
